Small Business Program
It is the policy of the University of California, consistent with State and Federal Law, to optimize opportunities for business contracting with small business enterprises in the areas of purchasing, construction, and design and other professional services provided to the University.
The Small Business Program provides the following services to the campus and business communities:
- Identifies suppliers of goods/services for possible use by UCSF.
- Counsel vendors on how to do business with UCSF.
- Provides key campus buying personnel with vendor source materials in the form of directories and source lists.
- Acts as the liaison between small business vendors and campus buyers, referring vendors to the procurement specialists as appropriate.
Any small businesses interested in doing business with UCSF may register with the Small Business Program of the Purchasing Department. To register simply do the following:
- Complete the UCSF Supplier Information Form (BIF). (If you are unable to retrieve the form, please contact us at 415/476-5761)

Allow four weeks for processing your submitted Business Information Form. Information on your company will be entered into appropriate vendor data systems and can then be made available to campus buyers. This is not in lieu of marketing to the campus.
Further, Federal Contracts above $500,000.00 require the placement of a specified proportion of contract expenditures with such enterprises. To that specific end, UCSF has established a Small Business Diversity Program.
